IVF AND GENETICS INTERSHIP

This internship is a valuable opportunity for those students who are planning to study medicine, biological sciences, biomedical sciences or genetics in the near future to explore their passion and know more about their future career.
Moules of training:

IVF LABORATORY (3 DAYS)

Andrology
– Tests to assess male fertility, techniques to active sperm, sperms freezing
Embryology
– Handling & Culture of eggs and embryos, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), fertilisation of eggs, scoring the embryos, asirating cells from the embryos for preimplantation genetic diagnosis, embryo and egg freezing

GENETIC LABORATORY (3 DAYS)

Cytogenetics that includes blood culture, processing and karyotype to study chromosomal abnormalities from blood and amniotic fluid.
Studying the chromosomes from embryonic cells to diagnose sex of embryonic cells to diagnose sex of the embryos and any chromosomal abnormalities.

GYNECOLOGY

Clinical management and therapeutic outcome of infertile couples.




Internships are a win-win for both employers and students.

Upon completion of this course, students will have a comprehensive orientation about assisted reproductive technology (ART).

Clinical aspects of treating infertile couples divides into different career roles; physician, scientists (embryologist and geneticisti) and nurse. lnteractions with such medical professions will help the students to have a clearer career vision.

HAND-ON EXPERIENCE

Hands-on experience on all the practical techniques that are performed in IVF and genetics laboratories combined theoretical aspects proved to be more realistic experince compared to shadowing a career or study about it.
